Onomarchus uninotatus
Onomarchus uninotatus
Onomarchus uninotatus is a master of camouflage. Its forewings, veined like real green leaves, perfectly conceal it within the canopy. When it unfurls them, it reveals thin, translucent wings that contrast sharply with its plant-like mimicry. Beyond its appearance, this katydid also fascinates with its call. Males produce stridulations audible from afar, the true sonar signature of the species.
Presented in a hermetically sealed glass-fronted box, it is enhanced by a black frame on a white background. Each specimen is carefully identified by a calligraphed label, indicating its Latin name and origin. A brass plaque engraved with the name Deyrolle certifies the authenticity of this unique piece, from our collections.
