Nephrophyllum

A unique work of art is therefore a piece created entirely by an artist's hand, signed by them, and which, in fact, exists in only one copy.

The original drawing is made by hand on black Vivaldi paper, using white pencil (dry and oil-based) and oil pastel.

Nephrophyllum, literally "kidney-leaf," imagines a hybrid organ where the human kidney metamorphoses into a plant. Inspired by the flora of New Caledonia, the work blends blood vessels and leaf veins to evoke the interdependence between the human body and the plant world, at the intersection of science and imagination.
