Cute female flycatcher

More discreet than her mate but just as remarkable, this female kingfisher sports finely striped black and orange plumage. Her bright eyes and scarlet beak give her an alert appearance, as if frozen in mid-observation of a tropical clearing.

Its elegant silhouette and warm hues make it a piece full of character, which goes wonderfully with the male also presented on Deyrolle.com (see third photo).
