This pair of Oak Eggar moths reveals the remarkable dimorphism that distinguishes the male from the female in this European species. The male, shown below, displays coppery-brown tones with a lighter halo; smaller and more vibrant, he flies with characteristic restlessness in woodland edges and clearings. In contrast, the female, shown below, has ochre-yellow plumage, broader wings, and a more robust silhouette.

Presented in a hermetically sealed glass box for hanging, these specimens are enhanced by a black frame on a black background. Each specimen is carefully identified by a calligraphed label, mentioning its Latin name and origin.
