Idea lynceus

Idea lynceus , often called the Large Spotted Glider, is a butterfly from Southeast Asia recognizable by its broad, ivory wings finely veined with black and dotted with regular dark spots. Large in wingspan and seemingly light, it is famous for its slow, gliding, almost floating flight.

Presented in a hermetically sealed glass-fronted box, it is enhanced by a black frame on a white background. Each specimen is carefully identified by a calligraphed label, indicating its Latin name and origin. A brass plaque engraved with the name Deyrolle certifies the authenticity of this unique piece, from our collections.
