A majestic bird of prey of the icy tundras, the Snowy Owl is an emblematic owl of the polar regions. *Bubo scandiacus* is perfectly camouflaged in snowy landscapes thanks to its bright white plumage, finely dotted with brown markings, more present in females and young birds than in males, who are often almost entirely white.

Its thick insulating down, coupled with feathers covering its toes, allows it to withstand extreme temperatures. Its intensely yellow eyes, positioned frontally, offer excellent binocular vision, complemented by keen hearing, ideal for spotting prey buried under the snow.

A symbol of mystery and the avian emblem of Quebec, it embodies the wild life of extreme environments and the resilience of boreal species in the face of climate change.

Maintenance advice

The parts that leave our workshops are treated internally and externally against parasites, but this last treatment can fade over time.

Here are some maintenance tips: For feathered animals: Every six months, lightly wipe a cloth impregnated with essence C (organic solvent) using
protecting the skin with gloves.

For furry animals: Every six months, remove the dust with a hair dryer at low intensity and in the cold setting, and pass over the hair a cloth impregnated with essence C (organic solvent), protecting the skin with gloves.
