Great Cormorant

The Great Cormorant, or Common Cormorant, is very common in France as well as in all areas favourable to the species: freshwater, brackish or saltwater bodies, rich in fish. When not fishing, it very often perches on a high support where it dries itself, with its wings spread.

With its almost entirely black plumage and slender silhouette, it measures about 90 cm. It is an emblematic species of our coastlines, rivers and ponds.
