Tree sparrows are extremely rare in taxidermy. Coming from museum collections, they are revisited by Maison Deyrolle. Under their glass globes, they coexist with butterflies including a Callicore cylenne, a Cymothoe sangaris and a Callicore hesperis. Several details such as the presence of a small Hoplia coreulea insect or a Chrysochroa chrysochlora give subtlety to the piece. Around branches covered with moss, a small ecosystem seems to have grown.

Origins of species

Our responsible sourcing of butterflies, preserving their
natural habitat and by fighting against overcollection, helps preserve the fragile beauty of these winged creatures for future generations. Our insects come from responsible breeding and hunting, thus preserving their natural habitat and fighting against overcollection. This approach helps preserve the fragile beauty of these creatures for future generations. The importation of exotic species respects international laws and those in force in different countries.

Expertise

Identification

Accurate identification of butterfly species is complex and
requires specialist knowledge of entomology. We use binomial nomenclature, which consists of giving each species a scientific name composed of two parts: genus, species and provenance.

Preparation of insects

Displaying butterflies and beetles is a practice
science that helps preserve the ephemeral beauty of these winged creatures. Each specimen is carefully mounted on a support, its wings are precisely deployed to reveal all their splendor. This meticulous technique allows you to appreciate the symmetry of the patterns and the variety of colors of the wings. The butterflies, once spread out, seem suspended in time, frozen in a graceful posture which reveals all the finesse of their structure.

Maintenance advice

To preserve this wonder of nature as long as possible, it is advisable not to expose your box to direct sunlight, as the colors would be altered and to place your box with the insect in the freezer once a year, for 5 days, to prevent parasites.
