Euxanthus eurinome

The Common Woodland Moth (Euxanthes eurinome) , also known as the Queen of the Forests, is a butterfly typical of the wooded areas of West and Central Africa. Its deep brown wings are dotted with distinct white (slightly greenish) spots. This species is strictly a forest dweller, observed in light undergrowth and clearings.

Presented in a hermetically sealed glass-fronted box, this specimen is enhanced by a black frame on a white background. Each specimen is carefully identified by a calligraphed label, indicating its Latin name and origin. A brass plaque engraved with the name Deyrolle certifies the authenticity of this unique piece, from our collections.
