Eupatorus gracilicornis
Eupatorus gracilicornis
Eupatorus gracilicornis is also known as the five-horned rhinoceros. Its coppery elytra, raised like two flaps, reveal its delicately veined, amber-yellow membranous wings. Above its dark thorax rise the slender, curved horns that gave the species its name, a veritable chitinous diadem whose silhouette has fascinated naturalists for centuries.
Presented in a hermetically sealed glass-fronted box, it is enhanced by a black frame on a white background. Each specimen is carefully identified by a calligraphed label, indicating its Latin name and origin. A brass plaque engraved with the name Deyrolle certifies the authenticity of this unique piece, from our collections.
