Deyrolle as seen by Doisneau
Deyrolle as seen by Doisneau
Our House, which Robert Doisneau nicknamed "the Paradise of natural forms," long fascinated the photographer. He produced several photo essays there, the majority of which have remained unpublished until today. His daughters, Francine Deroudille and Annette Doisneau, rediscovered these images in their father's archives. In response, we rediscovered in our collections the objects that inspired him, specially rephotographed for this book.
This book recounts the encounter between our cabinet of curiosities and one of the greatest French photographers. An unpublished treasure, published for the first time by Albin Michel.
"Deyrolle was Ali Baba's cave, the treasure chest that our father loved to draw from. Scientific rigor at the risk of the imaginary and the dream."
