Cymothoe sangaris

The Cymothoe sangaris , also known as the bloody nymph, is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family, widely distributed in Central and West Africa. Its evocative name comes from its intense red color, which distinguishes it from other species of the genus Cymothoe.

Presented in a hermetically sealed glass-fronted box, it is enhanced by a black frame on a black background. Each specimen is carefully identified by a calligraphed label. A brass plaque engraved with the name Deyrolle certifies the authenticity of this unique piece.
