Japanese spiny crab

This Japanese spiny crab ( Paralomis histrix ), mounted on a base and sold in a glass box, is a specimen native to the deep seas of East Asia. It is distinguished by its robust shell, adorned with numerous spines that allow it to move efficiently. The claws, also covered with imposing spines, are characteristic of this species and illustrate its ability to defend itself. Its shell displays a palette of shades ranging from beige to brown, with shades of red that reinforce its appearance.
