Allomyrina dichotoma

Recognizable by its imposing silhouette and trident-shaped horn, Allomyrina dichotoma is one of Asia's most famous beetles. This impressive beetle, also known as "kabutomushi" in Japan, can lift up to 850 times its own weight, making it one of the strongest insects in the animal kingdom. Its glossy brown elytra and translucent wings, shown here outstretched, reveal both the power and grace of this miniature titan.

Presented in a hermetically sealed glass box for hanging, it is enhanced by a black frame on a white background. Each specimen is carefully identified by a calligraphed label, mentioning its Latin name and origin.
