Esteban Fuentes de Maria
Born in Mexico City in 1995, following a two-hundred-year-old tradition of ornithology in his family, he began his career at the age of four, with an exhibition at the Muse Erasto Cortés in November 1999. His work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at the Museo Memoria y Tolerancia, the Museo Barroco, the Museo de Arte Virreinal, the Senate of the Republic, among others. In 2023, he presented a solo exhibition at Zona MACO, in the main pavilion of the art fair sponsored by Mercedes Benz, with the support of Taylor Fisch as curator. Since 2017, Esteban has been active in Paris, sharing a partnership with Deyrolle, the French Institute of Nature, where in 2022 their first collaboration was presented, followed by a second exhibition in 2023. The façade of the Hotel Amastan - Paris, has been permanently painted with a mural by Esteban since 2019. In Italy, Esteban collaborated with Salvatore Ferragamo, with an intervention of his paintings printed on leather that was launched worldwide. Also in Italy, Esteban exhibited his works in the botanical garden of Villa Corsini, under the aegis of the Hilario Galguera Gallery (2021), then, the same year, at the Palazzo Colonna, in Rome, under the aegis of Costanza Longanesi. Turkey became his second home during the pandemic, where he created "Adalilar" (Instanbul, 2021), later presented in a solo exhibition at Palazzo Corpi, organized by Soho House Istanbul.
