This moth is more commonly known as the Death's-head Hawkmoth because of a strange pattern on its body, which often closely resembles a sinister face. It lives in Europe and can range in size from 10 to 12 cm. Its name comes from the Acheron, one of the rivers of the underworld in Greek mythology.

It is sold with its airtight glass-fronted display case, black frame on a black background. Each specimen is identified (Latin name and origin) on a calligraphed label. A brass plaque engraved with the name Deyrolle guarantees that your specimen comes from our collections.
