History
Created in 1861 by an association of independent artists (including Louis Martinet and Théophile Gautier) the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux Arts has gone through history, and history has passed through it.
The biggest names in painting, sculpture and engraving have exhibited there every year, and have been, for 160 years, the watchdog for new reflections on the art of each era.
Historic, the Salon des Beaux Arts brings together numerous artists, French and international, selected on the quality of their work by a commission of cultural professionals, without discrimination of age or nationality. It presents the work of already established artists as well as that of artists from diverse backgrounds: painting, sculpture, sculpture, ceramics, engraving, photography, drawing and illustration.
The National Society of Fine Arts
The SNBA is an association of artists founded by Théophile Gautier in 1861, breaking away from the official Salon in order to welcome all artistic expressions, to “make art independent and teach artists to do their own business”.
The Naturalist Section invited to Deyrolle
In 2018, a naturalist section was inaugurated, making the Salon des Beaux Arts the first historic art fair to dedicate a section to Nature.
It is in this context that the Société Nationale des Beaux Arts offered Deyrolle, a bicentennial scientific and educational house with privileged links with the art world, to be a partner.
The winners of this edition will benefit from a personal exhibition lasting one month for the first prize, and the presentation of a work for a period of one month for the second prize.
For this 2023 edition, the Salon National des Bes Arts took place at the Orangery of the Senate from September 22 to 27. The winners this year in the Naturalist Section are Béatrice Meunier - Déry in first place and Inès Bruant in second place.
