Deyrolle at the Drawing Festival in Arles

From April 20 to May 19, as part of the Arles Drawing Festival, Deyrolle pays tribute to Tomi Ungerer and the three brigands during the immersive exhibition "L'atelier des trois brigands".

The Three Bandits is undoubtedly Tomi Ungerer's best-known album. The synopsis: three formidable bandits roam the countryside at night and sow terror. During the attack on a stagecoach, they kidnap Tiffany, an adorable little girl whose blondness contrasts with the surrounding darkness. Through her candor and freshness, she succeeds in converting them to the cause of good, and they decide to devote their treasure to the construction of an orphanage.

Maison Deyrolle pays tribute to Tomi Ungerer's Three Brigands during an immersive exhibition organized under the aegis of its Curator, Aymar du Chatenet. “L'atelier des Petits Brigands” invites the visitor to wander through a reconstituted classroom where educational boards, minerals, insects, owls, entomology boxes, recreate the artist's universe and allow visitors to closely observe the
naturalistic details of his work published in 1961.

Thanks to this workshop, young and old will discover how Tomi Ungerer designed these legendary characters in his sketchbook, and will also be able to draw them, drawing inspiration from the various surprises that await them in this room...

Let the little bandits hidden within us express themselves through drawing!
